Terrell Elvis Bix was born September 15, 1956 to Elvis and Wylene Bix in Clarinda Iowa. He passed away at his home May 14, 2017 with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his Dad, Elvis Bix, Son, Chad Bix and Stepdaughter Danielle Beckett.
Terrell grew up in a small town in northern MO. He has an older sister Teresa Howard (Doug), A younger brother Tracy Bix (Sarah) and a younger sister Tina Dittmer (Harold). He has 10 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Terrell played drums in a family country western dance band starting at age 14. He married and had 3 children, Christopher Bix (Beth), Chad Bix and Carie Lund (Bryan).
He started training in Martial arts in 1981, the form is Hapkido, it is a Korean form of martial arts. This seemed to be a turning point in his life. His life changed for the better after starting to learn the art of Hapkido. He opened his own academy in 1990. He has trained hundreds of students and has several students that have achieved Master rank. It takes about 23 years to reach Master and about 36 years to get to Grand Master. Terrell was promoted to Grand Master on May 13, 2017. Terrell was employed at Burns and McDonnell as a Manager until his illness forced him to retire.
Terrell remarried in 2000 to Sharon and became an instant stepfather to her three daughters, Brandi, Crystal and Danielle. Life at the home went from quiet to quite active. Terrell and Sharon were very active in their motorcycle club and then changed over to the Hot Rod club when he could no longer ride. Terrell loved God and his family, He was loved by many and will be missed by everyone that knew him.
